SPLIT PDF

Split a PDF, your way.

Pull out the pages you need, cut a document into ranges, or split a scanned batch into one file per patient using the MRN on each page.

How it works

  1. Add a PDF.
  2. Choose how to split: extract pages, each page, ranges such as 1-4, 5-9, every N pages, or by patient (MRN or another label).
  3. Create the file. Multiple results come as a ZIP, with an index when splitting by patient.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

Your files are opened in your browser's memory and processed on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and nothing is stored after you clear the workspace or close the tab.

How does splitting by patient work?

Perged reads each page for a label such as “MRN: 00123456” (MRN also matches “MR#”, “Medical Record No.” and “Patient ID”) and gathers every page with the same number into one PDF named after it. Pages without a label stay with the patient before them. This needs searchable text; scanned PDFs need OCR first.

Do hidden pages come along when I extract pages?

No. Links between pages can make PDF libraries copy pages you didn't select into the new file, invisibly. Perged removes those references first, so only the pages you chose end up in the file.

LOCAL BY DESIGN

Your documents stay with you.

Perged reads files into your browser's memory and creates downloads on your device. It does not upload documents, save them to an account, or send document analytics.

Locked PDFs: files locked against editing are opened as page images so they can be worked on; their text isn't selectable in the output. Files that need a password to open aren't supported.

The website and its bundled libraries load from the host. File processing happens locally. Clear the workspace or close the tab to release the documents from this session.

Local processing reduces exposure, but your device, browser extensions and downloaded copies still need your usual security practices.

Works offline: after your first visit, Perged keeps a copy of itself in your browser, so the tools keep working without an internet connection. You can also install it as an app from your browser's menu.

Redaction: pages you mark become images with the covered pixels removed, which also removes selectable text, links and forms from those pages. Unmarked pages are kept as they are unless they share content with a marked page; you can also choose to flatten every page. Always review the downloaded copy before sharing.

Signatures: visual signatures only, added on top of the original page; no certificate signing or identity verification.
